如何进行英语六级长难句分析?
很多六级同学在考试前狂背单词,结果考试的时候发现,大多数的单词都认识,但是每个单词合成一个长长的句子就看不懂了。阅读遇到这种长难句到底应该怎么办呢?
其实所有的长难句只要通过语法,进行结构分析,也就容易理解了。下面小编给大家推荐一个比较实用的方法,小编自己也在用哦!
首先,第一步是拆分从句 (ps: 还分不清句子成分的童鞋要回去恶补咯~)然后在分开理解,分开翻译。
栗子1
But when it came to their houses, it was a time of common sense and a belief that less could truly be more.
拆分:
it was a time of common sense and a belief that less could truly be more.——主句
But when it came to their houses——时间状语从句
that less could truly be more.——同位语从句
特殊难点:that less could truly be more.同位语从句代指主句中的common sense and a belief
翻译:
但说到他们的房子问题,那个时代人们的共识和信仰就是“少实际就是多”。
栗子2
Mies’s sophisticated presentation masked the fact that the spaces he designed were small and efficient, rather than big and often empty.
拆分:
Mies’s sophisticated presentation masked the fact——主句
that the spaces he designed were small and efficient, rather than big and often empty.——同位语从句
he designed——限定性定语从句
特殊难点:that the spaces he designed were small and efficient, rather than big and often empty.——同位语从句,同指the fact。
翻译:
Mies 的精致展示掩盖了这样一个事实:他设计的空间小而实用,而非大且空旷。
栗子3
But his belief that self-sufficiency was both desirable and inevitable was widely shared. (—2011,英语二,reading comprehension)
拆分:
But his belief was widely shared.——主句
That self-sufficiency was both desirable and inevitable——同位语从句
特殊难点:
That self-sufficiency was both desirable and inevitable同位语从句,同指belief。从句为主系表结构,系动词was。
翻译:
但是他认为自给自足的理念既是人们想要的也是不可避免的,这一观点得到了广泛的认同。
如果碰到有多个主语的,可以用s1 v1(主语的主语和谓语), s2 v2, s3 v3(从句的主语和谓语)来做标记
