参考答案: Absolute Obedience Should Not be Encouraged at School
As is portrayed in the picture, a teacher is teaching a student how to question authority. He says it's a good citizen's responsibility to question authority. However, he further supplements that definitely his authority cannot be challenged, leaving the student confused.
Apparently, the paradox illustrated in the picture vividly reveals the dilemma students are faced with: on the one hand, teachers expect students to question authority as a good citizen; on the other hand, under no circumstances can teachers' authority be questioned at school. In my opinion, it is far from wise to encourage students to absolutely comply with teachers" words. To begin with, those who are used to compliance are more inclined to yield even if they have better ideas. They seldom ask for anything better, let alone reaching remark able achievement.
Furthermore, freedom of thought is an essential prerequisite for academic innovation, which is further the impetus for social development. If education is designed for producing homogeneous workforce, what is the point of schooling? To go further, the world sometimes needs authority challengers.
To sum up, absolute obedience should not be encouraged at school. It is high time that blind obedience to authority was abandoned and teachers encouraged students to put forward fresh ideas.
